OAKWOOD TOWNHOMES - OAKWOOD, GA

Oakwood Townhomes is a beautiful new subdivision located just north of Atlanta, and we were proud to handle the paving work for one of our long-time, loyal clients. The project specifications called for 6 inches of GAB base material, followed by 2 inches of 19mm asphalt binder and 1.5 inches of 9.5mm asphalt topping.
Hydrated lime was incorporated into both asphalt layers during production. This modification offers several performance benefits, including:
- Improved resistance to moisture damage and stripping—especially for moisture-sensitive aggregates
- Reduced asphalt content in the design mix
- Enhanced toughness and resistance to cracking at low temperatures
- Slower age hardening of the asphalt binder (the liquid component that holds the mix together)
- Greater mixture stability and long-term durability
