WEST BROAD STREET - ATHENS, GA
These photos showcase the initial mobilization phase of a major new development project in Athens, GA—home of the world-famous Georgia Bulldogs.
Our team began by installing 12 inches of GAB base material in the GDOT deceleration lane, followed by 8 inches of 25mm asphalt binder base and 2 inches of 19mm asphalt binder. Inside the development, we installed 8 inches of GAB base and 2 inches of 19mm asphalt binder.
Once construction of the buildings is complete, we'll return to finish paving both the interior and the GDOT deceleration lane. We'll also be milling and repaving sections of nearby City of Athens streets—stay tuned for more updates as this exciting project progresses.
