WOODFORD - ACWORTH, GA

We recently completed paving work for a new subdivision in Acworth, GA—an uncommon case where the developer opted to install the final layer of asphalt topping before home construction began.
Project specifications included the installation of 6 inches of GAB base material, followed by 2 inches of 19 mm asphalt binder, a tack coat, and finally 1.5 inches of 9.5 mm asphalt topping.
Additionally, we paved the GDOT deceleration lane, which required a more robust pavement structure: 10 inches of GAB base, 4 inches of 25 mm asphalt binder, 2 inches of 19 mm asphalt binder, a tack coat, and 1.5 inches of 12.5 mm asphalt topping. The 12.5 mm topping is commonly specified when enhanced tensile strength is needed, thanks to its larger aggregate size.
