The Reserve at Timberlands
Now that the housing market is at full recovery after the financial crisis of 2008, we have been working with many housing developers in the Atlanta Area, constructing new streets for their subdivisions. On this particular project, we installed 6 inches of compacted GAB base material, then followed with 2 inches (compacted thickness) of 19mm asphalt binder. This layer, along with the GAB base, provides the foundation of the asphalt pavement. Once the developers complete construction of the houses, we will return to pave the streets with 1 inches (compacted thickness) of 9.5mm asphalt topping, which provides a smooth riding surface.
