Brookside Station is a strip shopping center located in a very busy area in Alpharetta, Georgia. It was one of 3 large paving projects that we completed for The Muntzing-Sattele Group, a long time and loyal customer.
This center is very unique in that it is occupied by many small businesses and restaurants, and the parking lot stays almost completely full during the day. Of course many of the businesses would be severely impacted by this work, but they also understood that the asphalt needed re-paved due to the severe deterioration. In order to keep this impact to a minimum, we mobilized at 1:00 a.m. on a Monday morning (Sunday night) and completed all of the edge milling and clean up. Our crews were off the property by 7:30 a.m. on Monday, and no businesses were affected. On Tuesday we completed some repairs that we required before commencing with the overlay. The Perma-Flex overlay was then completed in 3 sections over a 3 day period. Usually we can complete a project this size in 2 days, but in order to work with the tenants, we sacrificed production and completed the project in 3 small sections. Each day we completed all paving and striping by 1:30 p.m., and opened up the parking lot to business. Flag men and traffic signs were strategically placed to help customers with ingress and egress. In one of the pictures you can see our striping crew painting lines while the paving crew was finishing up with the final roll. The owners and tenants were very pleased that business interruption was kept to a minimum and of course very happy with the finished product.
